There’s quite a lot of discussion surrounding the future of paid work, and how certain livelihoods may be impacted by emerging technologies. However, we don’t hear so much about the future of unpaid work – such as domestic chores, or caring for loved ones – and how this could be affected by developments in artificial intelligence (AI). In this video, researchers at the Oxford Internet Institute share the findings of their ‘Domestic AI Project’, which explores some of the ethical questions surrounding the future of automation in the home, and whether there is an appetite for such developments.
